Philosophy
Our philosophy is both hands-on (interactive) and cognitive. We believe that allowing students to think creatively, prepares them for a complex and vitalizing world. Our structured and unstructured environment also allows cognitive based learning. That allows us to encourage active exploration which builds curiosity, and problem solving skills.
Our K-12 education philosophy takes the progressivism approach. We seek to make our academic curriculum relevant to the needs and interest of the student, in addition to core subjects. We encourage student interaction, team building, and innovative thinking; while providing real-world experiences that are meaningful and relevant to them.

Owner and Operator
Enlighten Legacy Learning Centers LLC/ Microschool Academy is owned and operated by Dr. Yacara Dozier (formerly Mungo). Dr. Dozier is a wife, mother, educator and native of Charlotte, North Carolina, in which she gained experience teaching, consulting and operating educational programs. After years of dedicating her time and expertise to programs in the Charlotte area, she decided to focus her time to a program that she could create to meet the needs of the youth in the community. As of today, she has fully dedicated her knowledge of the developmental needs of youth to grow a program that will aid the youth, their families and educators in the community. She looks forward to expanding her ideas into additional programs to build up a foundation that will ENLIGHTEN future generations.
